COURSE INTRODUCTION
By kind invitation of the COMESA Secretariat we are delighted to deliver our latest blended learning course, Analysing International Trade using TradeSift.
In collaboration with COMESA and InterAnalysis at the University of Sussex, the aim of this course is to enhance regional capacity in trade policy analysis.
This course will be of interest to desk officers, policy professionals, researchers and students throughout the COMESA Secretariat and COMESA member states.
We welcome you all and we hope that you will enjoy the course, the learning process, and find the material stimulating and relevant to your daily work.
COURSE STRUCTURE
This dedicated COMESA course page will provide you with everything you need to start and complete the course.
We use the principle of blended learning to deliver both conceptual and highly practical training on trade data analysis using TradeSift.
Course participants will receive:
- Daily Live Sessions with Experts: Where we will teach you about trade data, and how to use the TradeSift software to analyse international trade data, and tariff data, in order to improve trade policy decision making, and to improve your understanding of some of the trade policy challenges and opportunities that exist
- Practical Hands-On Sessions using TradeSift: through a series of practical exercises which are undertaken using the software.
- Discussion Sessions: allowing for tutor feedback of participant exercise results, together with an opportunity to discuss subject matters in more depth.
- TradeSift Training Pack: containing the conceptual and practical TradeSift training material presented by the course tutors. This also includes access to useful TradeSift demonstration videos.
GETTING STARTED
STEP 1. TRADESIFT SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
In advance of the course, it is important that you successfully install TradeSift onto the laptop or PC you are using for the duration of the course.
AND register the licence key. We have provided the licence key in the download section below. We have also supplied a guide to help you.
STEP 2. DOWNLOAD THE COURSE MATERIALS
Course materials are made available to you as soon as they are published. The filename and download link will be activated in the download table below.
TradeSift Licence Information
TradeSift courses include a free time-limited licence. We want participants to develop their TradeSift skills beyond the initial training period. To this end, the licence issued to support this course is valid for one month and will expire thirty days after the course end date. We encourage everyone to use their TradeSift licence as much as possible in their work.
Course participants benefit from a 20% discount on the listed TradeSift purchase price.
